Microplastic Filtration

During this project my team and I researched and developed possible solutions to limit the inhalation and ingestion of microplastics by American children. Through extensive research on microplastic properties and their potential health effects, as well as the analysis of existing solutions for airborne microplastic filtration, we worked to enhance microplastic detection and filtration devices. By modifying an existing air filter designed to filter microplastics, we were able to add ozone venting features. Additionally we incorporated visual scanning components to enhance the filter’s effectiveness while mitigating health risks associated with ozone byproducts of carbon filtration.
